Meals on wheels provision

For some older people, or those with disabilities, having a meal delivered can be an essential service.

It could be:

hot
frozen
or shelf-stable

meal that can simply be reheated.

It can also be a huge help for people coming out of hospital as a short-term solution.

There is no central service that offers meals on wheels in Cornwall, but there are many small local providers who offer hot meals.

A number of nation-wide organisations can supply frozen or shelf-stable meals. They use their own delivery drivers, or by a choice of different courier services.

As an alternative, many supermarkets offer an excellent range of frozen or chilled meals. These are often better value than delivery services.

If the person needing a meal is unable to manage an online delivery for themselves, a carer could organise it on their behalf.
